I have a big ask
Do you love someone in the Down syndrome community?
If yes, would you be willing to beta read my new book?
My novel includes a secondary character who has Down syndrome- his name is Ivan, btw - and I’d like to see if I’ve done him justice.
Don’t worry. It’s not this thick.
Why your opinion would help
Just to give you some back story, my own brother had Down syndrome. I loved him every second of his sixty-one years. He was a singular, unique person, just like every other person who has walked on this earth, and I’d like to think a part of him lives and breathes in the character I’ve created.
My goal is to show readers who are looking for an entertaining, heartwarming, funny story one version of a sibling relationship with a one-of-a-kind person who happens to have Down syndrome. That’s my end game - essentially a tribute to my brother - sharing him with people who didn’t have the pleasure to know him.
The benefits to you
First of all, maybe this book will be a bestseller one day, and you can say you were an early beta reader for it!
Secondly, I’ve made it easy. I pose just three simple questions for you to answer. No editing, no work, really. Just your honest opinions.
Thirdly, I would be forever grateful!

And I’ll send you jacket copy for the book, the first three chapters, and three questions for you to answer. If we hit it off, I’d be happy to send the rest of the manuscript for anything else you’d like to offer about Ivan’s character.
